The MAGNEL series of integrated video zoom cameras for Remote Weapon Systems is the perfect choice for customers demanding the utmost electro-optical performance under extreme conditions of temperature, shock and vibration. The products comply with MIL-STD 810F and can therefore be installated on both tracked and wheeled vehicles.
The MAGNEL series is available with a range of different cameras and zoom lenses depending on the requirements for the Weapon System. The camera and lens are boresighted to achieve a precision of +/- 0.2 mrad, not only over the entire zoom range, but also over the entire operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C. The camera has a start-up time of 5 seconds and is therefore ready for action immediately upon power-up. The camera is also designed for low-power operation and does not require a heater even for operation under low temperatures.
In addition to the high electro-optical performance, the MAGNEL series also offers advanced video processing, providing fog and haze penetration, peak white inversion, autofocus-on-demand and zoom-triggered autofocus.
The MAGNEL series also features graphics and text overlay on the video signal. The information can for example be reticles, data from a laser range finder, ammunition status, elevation and compass bearing.
Another unique feature of is the ability to merge the video signal with the video signal from an external thermal imaging camera. This provides the operator with a unique combination of both visual and thermal references.
